Primary Care Research


UCSF is internationally renowned for research in primary care. While this is exciting and reason for celebration, it can be a bit intimidating for a student without a clear research question. Don't worry - research is one of the many ways that a primary care mentor can help you!


Students can get involved in research in many areas related to primary care at any point during medical school:


During fourth year of medical school, students can participate in a yearlong research project as part of the Pathways to Discovery program or as one of the PCLA-associated fellows.
